Technical Project Manager (f/m/d), Energy Storage Systems EMEA
Aquila Clean Energy is Aquila Capital’s clean energy platform in Europe, committed to making a difference in the fight against climate change. We are seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager to join our energy storage team in Hamburg, Germany. In this role, you will lead the late development and construction phase of Aquila's EMEA ESS portfolio, with a primary focus on German projects.
Responsibilities:
Manage all external facing technical interfaces during the construction phase, including DSO/TSO, ESS integrator, Balance of Plant, Route to Market, telecommunication providers, etc.
Work in collaboration with the commercial lead of the ESS portfolio and other internal stakeholders to deliver all projects on quality, budget, and time.
Identify technical risks and address issues proactively to mitigate commercial and technical impact.
Support the development and investment teams on technical and project management topics during project development and acquisition phases, respectively.
Support negotiations and contracting supply/services agreements with ESS integrators, balance of plant, route-to-market, and other providers.
Closely follow regulatory developments related to energy storage systems (UL/IEC/VDE) and carry out impact assessments.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. engineering, physics).
Minimum 3 years of experience in the ESS, solar PV, or wind sectors as a project manager, technical lead, or similar.
Good understanding of all external stakeholders and interfaces of a BESS or renewable project.
Attention to detail with the ability to efficiently navigate complex technical topics and equally complex commercial negotiations.
Significant knowledge of the energy and renewable energy market, and a desire to keep updated with changing technologies, regulations, and trends.
Good communication skills.
Fluency in English and German; other European languages are considered beneficial.
