CORPORATE CARBON FOOTPRINT

Measuring and managing emissions

Aquila Capital has maintained a strong commitment to measuring and managing its corporate carbon footprint since its inception. Each year, we conduct a comprehensive assessment of our greenhouse gas emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and accountability.

We report in line with the methodology established by the VfU, a German association dedicated to advancing sustainability in the financial sector. This methodology is aligned with international reporting frameworks, including the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and the Global Reporting Initiative, and provides a harmonised basis for calculating emissions.

In 2025, our total corporate carbon footprint amounted to 600,040 tCO₂e, encompassing:

  • Scope 1 – 81 tCO₂e: Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources, such as company vehicles
  • Scope 2 – 32 tCO₂e: Indirect emissions from the consumption of purchased electricity, heating and cooling
  • Scope 3 – 599,927 tCO₂e: Other indirect emissions from the value chain, including upstream and downstream activities such as financed emissions, employee commuting and business travel

With the support of AQ Green TeC, we acquired Gold Standard carbon credits to compensate 645 tCO₂e, representing our corporate carbon footprint excluding financed emissions.

For further information on our corporate carbon footprint and compensation approach, refer to our 2025 Sustainability Report.
