CORPORATE CARBON FOOTPRINT

Measuring and managing emissions

Aquila Capital has maintained a strong commitment to measuring and managing its corporate carbon footprint since its inception. Annually, we undertake a comprehensive assessment of our corporate carbon footprint which includes calculating our scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, demonstrating transparency and accountability.

In 2024, our total corporate carbon footprint was 945 tonnes CO₂e, encompassing:

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from company facilities and vehicles
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased energy, such as electricity, heating, and cooling
  • Scope 3: Indirect emissions from upstream and downstream activities, including employee commuting and business travel. Excludes financed emissions in this case.

With the support of our partners at AQ Green TeC, we offset our entire 2024 corporate carbon footprint using Gold Standard carbon credits.

We follow the methodology established by the VfU, a German association dedicated to advancing sustainability within financial institutions. This standard is closely aligned with leading global frameworks, including the Global Reporting Initiative and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. For more information on our carbon footprint and offsetting please refer to our 2024 Sustainability Report
