Power Research Analyst (f/m/d)

Your responsibilities

This role sits within the Merchant Market Desk

  • Assume responsibility for continuous coverage of relevant power markets, initially focusing on the Nordics, Spain and Portugal, but also other countries where Aquila Capital invests in renewable energy
  • Monitor power price forecasts of third-party providers, create meta-analyses and report to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Observe policy/regulatory developments in relevant markets at EU and national level
  • Maintain proactive contact with relevant market players to gather market intelligence
  • Deliver qualitative and quantitative analysis in written or oral form
  • Explain analysis to clients and other stakeholders (i.e. banks)
  • Maintain and develop features of databases containing price information and relevant market reports

Your qualifications

  • Experience of 4-6 years in relevant areas in power markets, preferably in business areas like (energy) consultancy, utility or banking (focusing on energy markets)
  • Experience from energy, climate markets and change as well as capital markets/investment industry
  • Analytical personality with motivation to understand the root of causes and relationships
  • Critical and fast thinker, solid numerical ability and skillset to prepare and analyse data with relevant software skills
  • Ability to adopt to continuous change and market conditions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, understanding of Spanish and/or Portuguese is an advantage
  • Programming skills in Python or R are appreciated but not a requirement
  • Experience in SQL and or other non-SQL solutions (Mongo) is preferred
