Dieter Rentsch is a co-founder of Aquila Capital and in charge of investment strategy. As Chief Investment Officer, Dr. Rentsch specialises in identifying global trends and turning these into intelligent investment solutions. Mr. Rentsch is the former head of macro-economic research at MunichRe (MEAG) and has over 20 years of experience in the investment business.

As Aquila Capital’s Chief Operating Officer, Jost Rodewald is responsible for Aquila’s business administration, structuring and risk management functions. Prior to joining Aquila Capital in 2004, Mr. Rodewald was responsible for the risk management and setup of investment funds at DZ Bank International S.A., Luxembourg.

Roman Rosslenbroich is a co-founder of Aquila Capital and in charge of strategic alignment and operations. As Aquila’s CEO, he is in charge of the company’s corporate strategy, which includes the creation of new markets and the identification of successful fund managers. Before founding Aquila Capital, Mr. Rosslenbroich was head of the Fixed Income Rates Group at Salomon Brothers.

Mr. Kiefer is Managing Director of Aquila Capital Institutional and head of the Aquila Capital branch in Munich. He looks back onto an impressive career in some of the leading financial institutions in Germany, including the Bayerische Vereinsbank and Hannover Leasing.

Mr. Schulz joined Aquila Capital as a Managing Director in January 2010. Prior to joining Aquila Capital, Mr. Schulz held positions at Paribas Investment Management, Crédit Agricole Asset Management, Benchmark Alternative Strategies GmbH and Strategic Investments Group.

Cristina Bülow has acted as a Managing Director for Aquila Group's real asset fund companies since 2009. Following a career path that included Citibank, Arthur Andersen and the European Investment Bank, Ms. Bülow most recently was a partner at accounting firm Ernst & Young.

Mr. Kaiser-Blum has been a Managing Partner with OPS, the ship fund division of the Aquila Group, since 2008 and a Managing Director of Aquila Capital Classic Assets GmbH since 2012. Previously, he was managing director at Nordcapital and at H.C.M. Hypo Capital Management in Munich from 1989 to 1999.

Detlef Schoen is Managing Partner Farm Investments at Aquila Capital and has over 30 years experience in the international agribusiness. After completing a degree in Agronomics, Mr. Schoen held a range of positions at international agribusiness companies and has several supervisory board appointments.

Managing Director of Aquila Capital Advisors, responsible for the closed-end investor segment. From 1998 to 2000 Mr. Stiehler was responsible for international real estate acquisition for MPC Münchmeyer Petersen Real Estate. Between 2001 and 2005 he was head of wealth management at Hanseatische i-Bank AG.

Dr. Jan Auspurg is a fund manager within Aquila Capital's Quant Team. Dr. Auspurg holds a doctorate in Management (Dr. oec. HSG) from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland and has over 20 years of financial market experience. Previously, Dr. Auspurg worked for Salomon Brothers/Citigroup in Zurich and London, Bankers Trust in Zurich, J.P. Morgan in Zurich and London.

Torsten von Bartenwerffer is a Director Portfolio Management within the Aquila Capital Quant Team. Prior to joining Aquila Capital, Mr. von Bartenwerffer was a Portfolio Manager and Quantitative Analyst at IS Partners Investment Solutions in Zurich, where he was responsible for the conception and implementation of multi asset strategies. Previous roles included positions held at Clariden Leu as well as at UBS in Zurich. Torsten von Bartenwerffer holds a doctorate in economics (Dr. oec.) from the University of St. Gallen and has over 10 years of financial market experience.

Bernardino Branca is a pioneer in the European hedge fund business and director of the Branca family office (Fernet Branca). Mr. Branca oversees Aquila Capital’s fund of hedge fund operations, with a successful track record in fund of hedge fund management going back to the mid-90s.

Armin Gudat is Senior Fund Manager within Aquila Capital’s quant team. Mr Gudat joined Aquila Capital from AXA Rosenberg in London where as a portfolio manager he was responsible for managing relationships with institutional investors in Germany, continental Europe and the Middle East. He has over 20 years experience across a range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, currencies, asset allocation and hedge funds. Mr Gudat previously held various roles at German banks, such as Dresdner Bank and Westfalenbank, as well as international asset managers, namely WestCapital, Quorum Capital Management and WestLB Asset Management (UK) Ltd. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, London.

Harold Heuschmidt is the head of Aquila Capital's Quant Team and the key person behind the conception and implementation of Aquila’s Risk Parity strategy since its inception in 2004. Mr. Heuschmidt holds a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France and has over 20 years of financial market experience.

Prof. Dr. Harry M. Kat, Quant Research, contributed significantly to the development of AC Spectrum Fund. Prof. Dr. Kat holds a MSc and PhD in Economics and Econometrics from Tinbergen Graduate School of Business at University of Amsterdam. He is an expert in alternative investments and financial derivatives and a pioneer in hedge fund replication research. Prof. Dr. Kat is a member of the Editorial Board at several investment related publications. Previously, Prof. Dr. Kat was Director of the Alternative Investment Research Centre at Cass Business School in London, Head of Equity Derivatives Europe at Bank of America in London, Head of Derivatives Structuring and Marketing at First Chicago in Tokyo and Head of Derivatives Research at Mees Pierson in Amsterdam.

Dr. Helder Palaro is a senior researcher within Aquila Capital's Quant Team. Dr. Palaro holds a PhD in Finance from the Cass Business School, London and a MSc and BS in Statistics from the State University of Campinas, Brazil. Prior to joining Aquila, Dr. Palaro was a quantitative analyst within the volatility arbitrage team at AHL, Man Group, London.

Prof. Dr. Meadows is a Emeritus Professor of Systems Management and former director of the Institute of the Institute for Policy and Social Science Research at the University of New Hampshire. Prof. Dr. Meadows is regarded as the father of the sustainability movement and widely known as the co-author of “Limits to Growth", a study commissioned by the Club of Rome that discusses the consequences of a rapidly growing world population and finite resource supplies. As a member of the advisory board Prof. Dr. Meadows assists the Aquila Group in the early identification of macro issues and their translation into sustainable capital investments
Chairman of the Advisory Board
Dr. Herbert Walter is the Chairman of the advisory board. Dr. Herbert has over 30 years of experience in the financial sector. In the past, Dr. Walter managed the private customer section of Deutsche Bank, chaired the Executive Board of Dresdner Bank and was a member of the Executive Board of Allianz AG.

After completing his business degree and PhD at the WHU in Germany, Dr. Axel Wieandt held positions at McKinsey and Morgan Stanley. In 2000 he joined Deutsche Bank, where he headed up the corporate development division. This was followed by the positions of Chairman of the Hypo Real Estate Holding AG and Managing Director at Credit Suisse Germany’s investment banking division. In his current role, Dr. Axel Wieandt acts as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board of the Valovis Bank.
